What is required to start a personal security and safety company in the state of Florida?
Myself and associates are highly trained in self-defense, weapons, evasive driving, and tactics. We all have our concealed weapons permits and have tossed around the idea of starting a personal protection company (fancy term for body-guard). I would like information on what permits and licensing we would need to open a company such as this in the state of Florida.
Contact the Department of Agriculture, and the FDLE. If you guys are that highly trained – you should be aware of the licensing procedures down here. Look into A,B,C,G licensing – you will need to get yourselves bonded and incorporated as well.
Understand that there is A LOT of competition down here with law enforcement officers both active and retired, with military operational experience in this field. If you join one of these organizations you may just be able to cut the red tape, gain your licensing with these companies as an apprentice, and subsequently go out on your own.
